Everything has already been said about this pair of boots. I just wanted to echo those reviews. Yes, the sizes run a tad wide, but it's also not outrageous. It's certainly not wide enough where you would be concerned about poor support during hikes, at least for me. It MAY become more of an issue for people who are in between sizes, and who usually order the larger size instead. Then for this shoe, I would go with the lower one.
In any event, this boot is so very sturdy. Maybe it's because it's my first pair of real hiking boots (have always used running shoes in the past), and thus, I have had no comparison. But these look tough enough for a bit of outback hiking and of course, a bit too diesel for a lot of urban 'fire road' hiking.
The only thing that surprised me was that it says it's a 'mid' hiker, presumably meaning that the rise is only of a medium level. But to me, or maybe it's the length of my own calves, they seem to rise a bit more than that. But this I will certainly get over, since it cushions (and hugs) my ankles with a lot of padding and thus, provides a lot of support. A++ for the price! Recommended.

Great price! Fit is very wide in the foot, lot's of room. I found I needed a pair of hiking socks and a pair of footies then the lower ankle chaffed a little but the boots served the purpose. Nice looking boot that I found more comfortable as I wore them. Waterproof in mud and trickling streams. I would buy them again if needed.

Just got these day. Nice boots, just took a nice walk in them. Wish I had of gotten a 9 instead of 9.5. LOL

These Nevados Women's boomerang II mid high hiker boots are very comfortable. I didn't think that they would be as comfortable as they are. I have even done my daily walk in them a couple of times and they almost feel like I have sneakers on. Haven't used them for actual hiking but I'm sure they will be just fine. Very light weight and yet sturdy enough to support the ankle.
