They are very soft, but not in a cheap way. I was worried that they would be too short, but they come about mid-calf, and you can unfold them if you want and it doesn't look bad. Awesome! I am so glad I bought these instead of the more expensive ones at the store, and they look just like them! I live in the south so I can't tell you if they keep you warm or not though :(, but I DEFINITLY recommend!
